Choose a minivan when the deciding factor is how many people and how much luggage travel together, not the road surface: a family of seven, a small group sharing one vehicle instead of two cars, or an airport run with several passengers and full suitcases. The Hyundai Staria, Mercedes-Benz Vito and Toyota Alphard in this class seat 7 to 9 and carry 4–5 suitcases, both the highest in the fleet alongside the Off-road 4x4 class. Prices start at 200 ₾/day, and the Staria's all-wheel drive gives it slightly more confidence on wet or lightly rutted surfaces than the Vito or Alphard, though none of the three is rated for gravel or mountain routes in our data. Clearance across the class (160–186 mm) sits between economy and SUV, fine for city streets, hotel driveways and paved highways. If your trip is city-to-city on paved roads with a full group, this class is built for that, not for route planning.
Rental terms
None of the three minivans in this class is assigned to a gravel or 4x4-only route or attraction in our data — RentUp does not currently list dedicated minivan-rated routes, so for scenic mountain driving see the SUV or 4x4 class pages instead. This class also costs more per day than economy or SUV and its fuel use (8–10.5 l/100km) is higher, so it is not the economical choice for one or two people.
Deposit for minivan class is 1000 ₾, held on card at pickup (cash accepted) and released within 3 working days of return. Third-party liability insurance and CDW are both included; the excess is 1000 ₾, and optional SCDW is available for 25–45 ₾/day, bringing it to zero. Minimum driver age is 23 with at least 3 years' licence held.
